Lots of studies show that if you burn around 350 calories, at least three times a week in a 30-Minute sustained sweaty workout you can improve your mood, mental health, shape and general wellbeing big time.

When we exercise endorphins including serotonin and dopamine are released into the brain.

This gives us that feel-good effect and sense of wellbeing that keeps us strong, positive and motivated to live our life in a more productive way.

·        We choose to eat and exercise with more commitment

·        We sleep more soundly

·        We smile more

·        We look after ourselves better

The BIG Question, why don’t we all exercise?

Well, it’s not always as easy as it sounds with life’s twist and turns, and it’s finding the balance of a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise that gives us the long-term benefits. It means making it a priority over other things that currently take up your time.

It’s so easy to procrastinate and find excuses not to work out:

  • You need to get dressed

  • The travel time

  • Thinking about the workout

  • Then DOING IT…and NOT talking yourself out of it

The negative self-talk can be overwhelming:

  • I don’t have time

  • I’m too busy or tired

  • It’s too hot, cold, raining, windy!!!!

  • I don’t really enjoy working out

  • Do I have too

  • I’ll go tomorrow

Sound familiar?

You’re not alone, over 80% of people don’t meet the recommendation of 30-60 minutes of exercise 3 times a week and then wonder why they don’t look and feel as good as they want too.

At KWS, we know how good it feels to be fitter, stronger and healthier by DOING a 30-Minute ‘Stronger Woman’ circuit or class so we are encouraging you to DO IT!

Here are some TIPS to OVERCOME YOUR EXCUSES:

  • PRIORITISE YOURSELF

Remind yourself that when you do the ‘HARD things you make your LIFE EASIER’ and when you do the ‘EASY things your life becomes HARDER’

Nobody ever regrets working out. So, get to the gym, go as hard as you can for 30-Minutes on the KWS circuit or in a class, and then have a good stretch and walk out feeling uplifted, strong, PROUD and positive.

The opportunity to work out is always there by building it into and around your lifestyle. Yes, it might mean less time on ‘social sucking’ media, getting off the couch, saying no to late hours at work, getting out of bed for an early work out… It’s time to do whatever it takes!

  • SET REALISTIC GOALS

Remind yourself it’s not a sprint it’s a marathon and one positive small consistent step at a time.

Think about the small goals in your first few weeks of waking up your muscles, heart and lungs, and getting the feel of good form on and off machines as you work towards achieving the bigger goals you've set yourself.

Whether it’s to prioritise ‘YOU’ time, to get physically and mentally stronger, leaner, fitter, healthier or just happier and more confident, make sure it’s something that feels right for you. You’re more likely to keep it up if it’s something that motivates you.

Your WHY needs to be compelling.

For example, if you’re goal is 3 workouts, start out slowly at a steady pace and build yourself up over time to work out header and even add in extra workout days in here and there.

  • BUDDY UP

Remember every woman you know needs someone to cheer her on.

A workout buddy or friends at the gym – someone who wants to achieve similar things to you and having someone to push you can make all the difference and make it a more enjoyable.

It makes it harder to cancel or avoid your workout, if you’ve got someone there that’s relying on you to show up.

NOW, if you’re still wondering whether exercise really can impact your mood, the only way you will ever know is give it a go…why not commit too and increase your workouts for a few weeks and discover the amazing benefits. You’ll never want to give it up because you will feel so much better.

REMEMBER: Do the HARD things to make life EASIER!!!

YOU are WORTH IT!!!

Strength to YOU!

xx
